[rant]We can only hope that our "friends" in DC get off their corporate funded path of gutting any form of "net neutrality." The Representative I voted for (the
last time
that will happen!) is heading up the committee to prevent the FCC from having any control over the few Internet monoliths remaining. You can bet your last dollar, when these companies get finished, you'll be paying through the nose (with the one arm you have left!) for anything better than dialup.

I've got some gift monies burning a hole in my pocket and I'm considering buying a <
new cable modem>. I can then return the Comcast modem and have $5 a month reduction in the cable bill...which has been at least $20 more since I traded in my old set-top box for one that allows digital channels. I now have almost 10 good channels! Well, sometimes, anyway.
Comcast says they have DOCSIS 3 available. What they won't/don't say, of course, is if they will start charging me for the
capability to use its faster speed without paying for their "Premium" choice plan(s).
