Upgrade Policy

You can upgrade from version URL Manager Pr 3.x to 4.0 for 14.99 USD or 11.99 EUR. You can purchase URL Manager Pro 4.0 now for this price in the Mac App Store. On September 1st, URL Manager Pro's price in the Mac App Store will change to 25 USD, so please take the opportunity now to upgrade to version 4.0 (Intel) via the Mac App Store.

I'm really bummed as I hate, hate, hate the app store and I only buy from there if it's an absolute need. Sadly URL Manager Pro isn't a need, it's a nice want, so I won't be buying it; but for those of you who like the walmart of apple wink.gif -- get it now before the price goes up.

There's been plenty of complaining about this on the URLMP journal. Here is one reason: The Stpre rather rudely informs current Beta users:

If you want to replace it with this version, move the existing app to the trash.
Yeah, that's right, I have the ßeta version running with not a single problem, but the App Store can't tell the difference between a ßeta and a released version. Nor does the notice remid anyone that all they really have to do is Archive the current version (and probably its prefs) before downloading the new one. rolleyes.gif

And why is it so difficult for Apple to put the uploading progress bar/indication in the actual Mac App Store?! rolleyes.gif Do they really think that everyone keeps the space hogging Dock visible all the time? "Hello! Apple, it's my machine, I paid you well for it..." And why only one download at a time? Have they not heard of multiple connections? [stupid icon goes here!]

At least there will be more visibility for the app (and the developer) this way. It was only after much pleading by users and a healthy recovery from illness that the developer has brought the app into the Intel world. Unfortunate that it must be only on the app store, although many have also pleaded that it still be available at his site. I'm due to pay again, anyway, it has been well worth many, many times it's price for many, many years. It's truly a bargain at several times the price! yes.gif clap.gif cheer.gif

And, so far, it has not suffered the fate of 1Passwords 'Safari Extension' debacle. rant.gif

I might like to join in this rant. Where do I find it?

Thanks. Now I know I'm not alone. Might join just to speak my peace. I've always found 1Password so reliable, but now it's almost a pain to have to deal with on a daily basis. sad.gif

I'm running the beta version of URL Manager. Don't quite get all of it, but no time to really dig in to learning until next week.
