Can't open a PDF document
« on: August 03, 2011, 08:11:40 AM »
iMac Intel i3 21.5” OS 10.6.8, Adobe Reader 10.1.0

When I open a PDF document with Safari, or any other browser, only the first page opens and I cannot read
the document. I used to be able to do this. It used to be that when I would select a PDF document with Safari,
the Adobe Reader application would open and I was able to read the document.
When I try a "Save as" of the Safari page, I get a message that says (in this instance)

The document “13019_INST_09_VIEW.pdf”
could not be exported as “13019_INST_09_VIEW”.

I wonder by what incompetent doing on my part I have bungled this part of my system!

If you have Acrobat Reader (or Pro) installed, you may have a setting in its prefs that assign it to be the default PDF viewer.

Lacking that, MOVE (do not delete it) your Safari prefs to your Desktop and restart Safari. Did that make any difference?

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
