DNS error

I agree - it should be dead easy.

The problem in this case, Tacit, is getting the domain registrar to take responsibility and carry out the last steps (ie: 5 on). From what I can tell, Kimmer is being told by the actual registrar (domainpeople) that she has to talk to Hostway, and Hostway is telling her that she has to talk to domainpeople. This is because when she originally got the domain and the hosting, it was rolled into one package. I know of lots of people who have gotten the runaround when trying to deal with this situation, which involves separating the domain name from the hosting. And usually, with any reputable registrar, you don't have to talk to anyone - you go into your control panel and change the name servers to the new host yourself. But Kimmer can't do that, because she has no access. She also can't MOVE her domain registration because she has no access to it.

See: http://www.webhostingdeals.org/webhostingg...-of-free-domain Con #1 for the situation she finds herself in.
