I hope it's not just that no one wants to chat with you! eek2.gif

I don't think I've even opened iChat on this iMac I got a few months ago, let me see if it works, whatever version it might be...
Well it starts up fine. Looks to be v.6.0, however. Still has all three "Buddies" listed. Oh, wait, those are the ones that are On-Line, there are another 32 OFF-Line. I suppose that's why you don't appear in the On-Line list... doh.gif A couple of them look like they are actually me! inspect.gif

I'll be glad to upgrade iChat to your version, but I ran SU a while ago and it didn't mention that there was a newer one. dntknw.gif Don't go away...

Whoa! That was scary! I clicked the Video icon in the prefs and one of the ugliest creatures I've ever seen appeared in the little video window! eek2.gif Even scared the cat!!! laughhard.gif

OK, SU still doesn't list iChat as needing an update. Are you sure about that version number? Or have you done the Lion update? Maybe it comes in that. dntknw.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

OK, I think you mean you got that version with the last Lion update...10.7.2. I have't done that, yet. I noticed mention of the new Safari coming in that OS update, so I don't have that, either. I can only assume that much of this involves iCloud and that's why the individual apps are not available separately. I think Paddy is updating Lion, as we speak, maybe you can get her to try the new iChat, also. wink.gif I'll probably wait at least a few days before making changes to the OS...

now that you mention Cloud, after updating lion and restarting there was the cloud app asking me to sign in, was not ready for that so I just quit the app and thought I'll deal with that later. On trying to find Cloud later there was no sign of it, disappeared into the clouds maybe, can't find it anywhere.

...don't forget the "i"...it's not just "Cloud," it's "iCloud." "Cloud" is what is normally obscuring the Sun/Moon in your part of the world. It is also being usurped my many technology companies, claiming to be the ultimate service ever offered to us mere users. Of course, it can sometimes be as ephemeral as the kind over your head and leave "us" without any real data. "iCloud," of course, will have no problems, ever. It will be available 105% of the time, no matter where you are, no matter what device you use, no matter far you are from electricity... After all, it will just work! ...it will just work!...it will just work!...will work!...work!...work... laughhard.gif

As for accessing it, look in System Prefs, it should be in the Internet & Wireless section. salute.gif
