Hi,

In a previous post I mentioned Galaxy Internet Services. (You can get information about Galaxy by clicking on that link.) Back then, I didn't know what region you lived in--but now I know you're in Rhode Island. I did check--they do provide services to Rhode Island.

Here's the link to their page with the dialup numbers for Rhode Island. Make sure that none of these would be a long distance call for you. Their base rate is $14.95/month. If you prepay for 6 months it's $11.95 a month. Before I went to DSL, I used them, my dad still uses them as have other friends of mine. We were all happy with the service. (Of course, your mileage may vary... unsure.gif )

Just wanted to mention it again in case you decided to go dialup. Be sure to shop around--there's no need at all to pay a charge like $19.95 a month--or higher! jawdrop.gif

thanx.gif kelly

I did go to the syracuse link to check things out.
They only offer one email address at that price. I currently have 6 email
addresses available through WebTV.  My husband and I use 3 consistently and 1 is a complete dummy address.  When the family comes the Grandchildren and older children get to use the other 2.  I was hoping to find an ISP that would provide similar email addresses. syracuse only provides one.  Since we need a minimum of 2 addresses, it doesn't look promising.  My husband needs access to send homework assignments, educational related and for other business.  He can use up space very quickly.  His own email at school has been down for quite awhile.  They use PC's which have been maintained by Providence College students working on it in their spare time.  The school has such limited funds that they have not had the resources to fix any problems.  So, that's the reason I have to shop around for a service that offers a few email addresses.    Myrna

thanx.gif Rob,

I appreciate your reply.
The same holds true for the ISP you suggested - only one email address alloted. Great price though.  I really hope to find an ISP offering more email addresses.

Ok. That's a whole 'nother Kettle of Fish. smile.gif

Still. If you're going to go Dialup that's a decent inexpensive Modem. smile.gif

I have 5 email addresses.
 1. qwest.net
 2. mac.com
 3. excite.com
 4. yahoo.com
 5. myway.com

The last 3 are freebies and qwest is my isp.  My wife also has her own excite.com email and Outlook express on her computer. There are a lot of choices out there if you look for them. smile.gif

Like gmann says, hook up with an inexpensive ISP and then add free email addresses through web-based email accounts. They work fine, and can be used from any computer that has internet access. In addition, most ISPs like Galaxy allow you to check your email from a website that they have. (Galaxy uses "Astromail" which you'll see at their site.)

Best deal I could find was the following (which I already emailed to Myrna):

http://corp.ixpres.com/connect/dialup1.asp

"Gold" service - $6.95/mo, unlimited service, 5 email accounts. Seems like a real deal to me!

Have you found out any more about them, Myrna?

For freebies - I use Yahoo and myrealbox.com MyRealBox is a Novell test site - so it very, very occasionally goes "down" as they play with the software, but I've only once noticed it down - on a Sunday, so it's pretty reliable. I just have it set to forward all my mail to my broadband email account, so that I don't have to bother having to check it (either manually or automatically).

Been some time since I've gone to this site.
You might want to look around.

Free web email list

As the others have already mentioned, there are a lot of 'free' web mails out there.
