I have used a mac email account for many years - ever since I migrated to icloud I have had problems viewing it.

I have 6,652 messages on it, and I would like to delete a lot of them, but it is so slow and cumbersome that I may not be able to get round to them.

Presently I have problems to view the mac account in my iphone and ipad.

The most frustrating thing I find about Apple that there is no helpline, much like Google so these simple problems never get fixed.

I also recently bought a new secondhand mac, and the search button never finds my old files that I transferred across. So frustrating.

Larry, I don't use iCloud for email (or anything else, at this point) so I haven't experienced this firsthand. I use my own ISP's mail (they use Yahoo - which, after much fiddling, I've been able to make do IMAP, despite my ISP's lack of support for IMAP - I sometimes wonder if Rogers is living in the dark ages...), and Gmail. If you can't get it to behave, I'd suggest considering switching to Gmail.

You're not alone - lots of grousing here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/343388...15&tstart=0

On the other matter - Search probably isn't finding your old files that you transferred because it hasn't indexed them. Not sure what your indexing preferences are, but you can force Spotlight to reindex everything, which should solve the problem.

I'd suggest doing it overnight when you're not using the Mac for anything else. wink.gif

I'm not sure I'd want to keep up with 6,500+ emails on either an iPad or an iPhone, after all those are much less powerful CPUs than any Mac of the last five years. Not sure what's suggested in Paddy's links (I'm too lazy to check them! blush-anim-cl.gif ) but you might try using the Rebuild function in Mail. Another thing to do is to keep your messages on your own computer instead of iCloud. Of course, that means you'll not be able to access them with the iPad/iPhone when you'r mobile, and that may be a major requirement for you. dntknw.gif Finally, you might check your settings in Mail, the default is set to never delete anything! It won't take long to end up with thousands of messages that are of absolutely no value! If I haven't moved a Sent, Trashed or Junked message within a month of its arrival or creation, it's gone! Period. I certainly don't want it cluttering up my server space! nono.gif
