Those Oh-So-Helpful Geeks at Best Buy

A long time ago when Best Buy came to our area and I first got a computer. I bought a cordless phone thru them, and had their coupon for free shipping.
No matter how many emails I sent trying to correct this, they still charged me 9 dollars for shipping.
I finally got the main office on the phone, and told them, they said they would reimburse me right away. Never happened, so I called back and said that they would lose our entire family business. And I never bought anything from them since and neither has my family, wonder how much $ they lost by screwing grandma for 9 bucks?

I stopped taking them very seriously when they started to "crack down" on people who were shopping for bargains by actually making a note of Best Buy prices.  Most recently I bought an ethernet cable from them in case I needed it to fix a friends connection problems; they put me through several extra steps (proving who I was and that I was the one to buy it in the first place) when I took it back.  I think there are worse retailers (Target, KMart?) but not too many!

We dont have a Target nor a KMart here, only one WalMart allowed on Cape Cod.
If we want stuff like that, we hit Amazon, and have not had any problems with them.
But I prefer to use our local family-owned small hardware stores if they do have what we want.
Its hard to deal with this sometimes, so we do have to shop online. Though we do have a very small independent Mac store.
