Recently I began receiving junk faxes from a company "alerting" me that someone has tried to register .biz and .net domain names using a domain name I have registered. The company makes money by offering registration services, at inflated prices, natch...
Anyhoo, sending unsolicited junk faxes is illegal under most circumstances (apparently most people do not know this fact... for more info go here
http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/other/fs/fs001543.php3 ) and it is possible to collect up to $1500 per junk fax through legal action.
I have filed a complaint with the FCC, but a registered letter to the contact listed on WhoIs was returned with the notation that it could not be delivered as addressed and that no forwarding address is available. The company's website has no contact info other than a toll-free number and an e-mail address.
My understanding is that the domain name registration info must be accurate and up-to-date or the domain name can be revoked or some other action taken. Is this correct, and if it is, to whom do I tender a complaint? Any ideas on how I can track down the company?
The company in question is iSupport Net and their website can be found at
