I gave up on LibreOffice one or two versions ago. It kept crashing.

Today, a new version showed up on CNET so I decided to give it a try. After installing it and attempting to launch for the first time, I got this message:

Despite your profile info, you must be running 10.8/Mountain Lion, right?

All you are seeing is the standard response based on your settings in the Security Pref panel Change that to the last option and you can install/open LibreOffice (and any other app from who knows where!) without further delay. wink.gif I would advise then re-setting the prefs to Apple Store only or App Store and identified developers. yes.gif BTW, this behavior is called Gatekeeper by Apple.

My computer just does not like LibreOffice. Previous versions crashed, so I got rid of it. This latest version stalled when I launched it and then got even worse when trying to open a document. After quitting the app my computer acted like it was possessed.

I ran Cocktail and trashed LibreOffice. Now things are back to normal.

I'll stick with OpenOffice. It works.
