That's a fantastic story!  I hope my kids never surprise me with a old car because the price of gas is too dear!

Two weeks from today, on August 19, Wilda and I will celebrate our 60th!

We took our wedding trip in a borrowed 1948 Chevrolet because the only vehicle we owned at the time was a 1945 Chevrolet pickup. The guy that used it while we were gone overhauled the transmission for us.

After we returned from our honeymoon, we bought a very used 1947 DeSoto. A month later the engine shelled out 100 miles from home. We had it overhauled and drove it for a couple more years, then traded it in on a new 1955 Plymouth Savoy sedan.

Our family is planning a big celebration for us, but it probably will not include a restored automobile!

Ah, the memories!

Joe
