Have Western Digitals regained a "quality" reputation? It's been a while since I last bought a hard drive, but I remember the mantra "Never buy WD"

Yes. WD have regained a good reputation. If they ever lost it.

The 8 MB Cache WDs are highly thought of.

Some people love/hate different brands for whatever reason.

Any hard Drive can fail.

I've order a USB case for the old drive-thought it would make it easier to transfer files back, and won't be bad as a backup, and a Quantum 30G hard drive

Shipping was reasonable.

I'll be asking

LOTS

of questions when it gets here.

Hard to say what that Drive is Jennie.

LBA is meaningless. Any Drive since about 1837 uses that.

I'm concerned about that 2.5 measurement. Size: 2.5X3.5X1

2.5 is for Laptops.

I got concerned, so I called. Gary at Poweron tells me it is not a laptop drive. I told him it was going into the iMac and he said it would be fine.
