Getting my LOG-IN image back-where is it?
« on: May 09, 2015, 12:35:57 PM »
I used a generic symbol, the sand image for my Log-In picture.

I was messing with Photo Booth and a picture of my face is now my log-in picture.

How can I get my sand picture back to my log-In?

Don't know anything about Photo Booth, but if you open System Prefs->Users & Groups, you should see the account you're logged in to. Unlock the panel. Click and hold on the image and you should get an "edit" label and the round icon gain a blue ring around it. Click that and edit away. This is with Yosemite and Mavericks, not sure what OS you're running. But give it a try.

Biggest difference is that the image is square rather than round. wink.gif

Perhaps there's a way to do this in Photo Booth, also. Maybe even iPhoto! dntknw.gif

Thanks for the tip, Jim. That's a neat trick; I never knew that it was possible.

There is another way. Wipe the drive and use an OS Installer. At some point along that ~45 to 90 minute process, you will be given a chance to select an image... YMMV, but I don't like having my own image there; it's bad enough having to look in the mirror every day... rolleyes.gif

This is available way back in Leopard. Since my old DA Power Mac doesn't have photo capabilities, it offers the option of plugging  in a camera and taking a picture if I want.  smile.gif
