One reason may be that LastPass came
from Windows, along with some problems? It's probably been a target for a long time. 1Password was
Mac only at first. Hopefully, they will be more security-minded and not have this same problem.
After reading the article: Excuse me, but why on earth would anyone have their Master Password stored on any server connected to the web?!
1Password does not do this, at least I've never heard of them even offering this kind of "service"! I cannot imaging why LastPass would even have that kind of information about its users! Password/username to access their forums, confirm registration, sure. But every single one of my 1Password generated passwords is known only to someone with direct access to my computer/iPhone/iPad. It's not stored anywhere else. Period. Nor do I use Dropbox for syncing them!
Even writing these passwords on a piece paper, on your desk, is safer than storing them at the very site that is a prime target!
