Growing Willows into Chairs and Lamps!

This guy named Gavin Munro is taking living willow trees and forming them onto chair forms and growing furniture:

I think somewhere I've got an old book from the 1930's that talks about this kind of thing and had a name for it!  I think that it would take
a lot of help and patience!
