Apple Lowers iCloud Storage Prices

I've never used iCloud storage, so I don't know how reliable it is, nor anything about its speed (one commenter said it's 'glacial in NL'); but the pricing looks great.
  • 50 GB: $0.99 per month (previously 20 GB for $0.99 per month)
  • 200 GB: $2.99 per month (previously 200 GB for $3.99 per month)
  • 1 TB: $9.99 per month (previously 1 TB for $19.99 per month)

Pricing now matches Amazon and a few others. They dropped the 500GB level, however. I just don't use the "cloud" for many kinds of serious backups. However, they should be* more reliable than local Hds since they should be* making automatic recovery and multiple hardware devices. Speed will always be dependent on your local connection. Access will always be dependent on your local connection. You can buy a lot of HD for $240 (1 year of 1 TB at iCloud) and have much faster access speeds, but when the HD fails, the speed will drop significantly! laughhard.gif

* There should be a law against using these two words together! We already know what should be, unfortunately, it is too often assumed to be and too often not to be (as Hamlet once sort of said)! wallbash.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

I like having some things backed up in dropbox simply so that I can use it on my laptop, iMac and iPhone. Otherwise, I also prefer having a couple of external drives right here at home. I can always grab them and run if need be. wink.gif
