We've just got our MBP back after having a replacement trackpad fitted and now can't connect to the internet.
Before taking it in I set up a new user account called "service" with its own password, and activated file vault as what I saw as a sensible safety measure. The trackpad is great, working exactly as it should. I expected the MBP (Snow Leopard) to reconnect in the same way it does after we've returned from visits - it just connects. I really can't imagine that changing a piece of hardware is going to cause this problem so wonder if my new account has upset things.
Could it be a corrupted p.list? If so, which one do I "restore" from Time Machine to get the settings right. Going through the set-up procedure, it gets as far as the "BT Hub 5" (modem-router) but can't get any further.
At the risk of sounding desperate, my missus is the MBP's main user, so I would be ever so, ever so grateful for some...
