Again, I don't use iTunes to backup anything, so I have no words of help for you. Perhaps someone else will drop by and give you an assist. Sorry.

To back up my photos, I use TM and CCC, plus I will manually just grab photos and drag to an external drive. I've never used Photos to store my photos.

Thanks kimmer... :) It's OK... I couldn't find an answer online either, however I did find the answer and it was a truly STUPID simple thing that's never happened before. I'm just getting more and more frustrated with Apple of late.

Actually I use Time Machine too so they are all backed up there... I just like to have many of them on my iPad as there are a couple of artistic apps I like to use to apply effects to many and also I just like having them there... often I'll end up in a conversation with someone and will show them some. There are many photos but my library also consists of artwork I've done over the years since 1997. They all survived Windows and the transition to Mac and many were done on my Macs... and now on my iPad. I'd hate to lose them but that isn't an issue. They are all in my Time Machine backups and also in my backups to my machine from iTunes.

Anyway... what was the problem? Yes well I was so mad or I would have
All that happened was that I accidentally toggled the button in iTunes that requests the selection of what I want synced to my iPad. It said that iTunes would no longer sync them... I mean...  The same little "accidental" thing has happened before and I was still able to re-select and sync my choices. What "I" ended up doing was restoring the iPad from a full, encrypted backup on my machine and what do you know? That got it working... I'm not sure what else I could have done and am happy I had the backup.

I tried the usual things... restarting the computer, doing a hard restart on the iPad... nope, nada... no way!  :wallbash: Just a little while ago iTunes made a mess of the music synced to my iPad. Playlists were wrong, a couple I could not find AND even though I choose "match checked items only" in all my smart playlists... Apple thought it might be helpful to also add to some playlists iCloud available downloads that were NOT checked. Well, I finished cleaning up my Music library... ditched most doubles and hid every file that was somewhere in THE CLOUD! Problem solved... but why was it a proble anyway? When syncing music iTunes ignored the "match checked items only" order on my playlists. Not happy and not helpful at all! Apple is taking too many liberties lately IMO, when these choices should be mine and respected.

Anyway it's OK now... it was just a really dumb issue that took way too much  :wallbash:
I do appreciate your comments anyway... sometimes one never knows what just "might" trigger an idea... thank you. :)
