Internet Outage
« on: June 01, 2019, 03:34:36 PM »
If you search for "Internet outage" you will get lots of very outdated hits. You may also get a site that refers you to sites with no actual update nor report time(s), so you have no idea if they are current or historical. If you are really lucky, you will get a site that reports on one or more of the major interweb 'suppliers'; Comcast, AT&T, etc.

I first found a site that appears to offer current service status along with Packet loss, Response time and a computed "index" for a couple dozen North American routers. Unfortunately, there is a little text block at the top of the page that says "Last update 11/20/2018 01:00". I hope that means an 'update' to the list of "routers" they are monitoring. It's on all the pages I saw, so assume that date has nothing to do with today!

I am having problems with a site in Texas and one in Wisconsin. There are three "routers" being monitored in those States and two or showing 100% packet loss, which makes access pretty much impossible. Of course, these companies may have their sites hosted in some location completely different than their business location. :dntknw:

BTW, Internet Traffic Report monitors three "routers" in Canada. Two (Edmonton and Ontario [rogers.com]) are at an index of 95% and 100% respectively, but some folks on the Left Coast (Vancouver) are experiencing 100% packet loss!

UPDATE: The interweb seems to be all better now with some hi-tech band-aids. :confetti: :cheer:
