Keynote on TV
« on: October 21, 2019, 09:46:54 AM »
How can I hook up my MBP to do a keynote presentation for a client that has a flat screen tv with HDMI cable? I usually use my LED Projector with VGA(?) cord and adaptor.

1. What are the video out options on the MBP (assuming that's what you will be using)?
2. Must you only use the HDMI input?
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

SWHMBO travels with both the vga adapter and this hdmi adapter to make her presentations with her MBP. HTH:

I pointed to the wrong adapter. I get all of the buzz words ie:lighting, Thunderbolt, etc confused in my old brain.  The one that works is the adapter that hooks up to the mbp miniport. This one:

Raven, if you put the year of your MBP model in the info about your Macs, that would help us know what ports you have available. A 2012 to mid 2014 Retina MBP, for instance, has an HDMI port. A 2015 MBP has Thunderbolt 2 and USB 3, and current MBPs have USB C... Prior to 2012, MBPs had a display port. Basically, unless your MBP is a Retina model from 2012-2014, you'll require an adapter of some sort, as most flat screen TVs have only a couple of input options. I think it's fair to say they all have HDMI, and some (likely older models) have composite video and audio and possibly VGA.

Thanks everyone. An HDMI to mini display port adaptor was the simple solution!
