BTW, I just noticed that my Dictation prefs allows turning off the Shortcut setting! Just select "None"! That will definitely prevent your accidentally using any shortcut setting!

When I do speech to text, it's a bit wonky, and sometimes the text doubles up on what I've said,...
1. Humans are not perfect, computers are built by humans, therefore, 2. computers can make more mistakes than humans, alone. That's why dictation (whether by humans or computers) should always be checked for accuracy. Unfortunately, that is usually done by humans, so see item 1. :wallbash:

... and then there's this little pop up box off to the right that I ignore and have not taken a screenshot of it yet.
Have you tried the regular screenshot "capture a selected area of the screen" method? shift-command-4 That will even capture a menu drop-down, should also a work on a pop-up dialog.

"A picture is worth..." And they usually don't require a 'second' language, gibberish works fine! ;)

You have even more options by pressing Shift-Command-5. See Take screenshots or screen recordings on Mac This works in Mojave and later.

Jon, I usually do shift-command 4.... sometimes I accidentally take a pic of my entire screen if I hit the 3 instead of the 4.

Jim, here's one of the things that pops up while I'm using voice to text. I ignore it.
Thanks again!

OK, I thought it was a pop up you didn’t understand, silly me! :blush-anim-cl: I don’t blame you for ignoring it; I have all those commands memorized also. :wallbash:
