Lo and behold!  One week later all the above mentioned problems simply disappeared although they never existed at all.  Gremlins?

I do have one current question, however.  Getting pop ups to remove flash from the computer since it is no longer going to be supported.  Legitimate?  DO I remove it?  So  many scams lately both on computer and phone it's hard to know what's real and what's not.  TIA.

Don't click on any links in those popups. Instead, go to Uninstall Flash Player | Mac OS, direct from Adobe.
