Incoming email attachments
« on: November 18, 2021, 06:51:44 AM »
Received a legitimate email from my auto insurance company. 4 images did not open, only question marks in their place.
I've gone into Mail prefs and ticked All under the Download Attachments menu. Am I missing something somewhere else?
Edit:
It's a Yahoo address. When viewed on Yahoo Mail's website the images do indeed appear. So I must have something set incorrectly in Apple Mail.

FWIW, I occasionally have the same thing happen and I have never been able to solve it. The link to a website is, AFAIK, the only workaround. Maybe someone else can shed light on this.

It means they have stored the image in a not publically accessible server. Yahoo mail, of course, can access all their proprietary servers. This is mainly a way to "encourage" you to use Yahoo 'services', including any ads they think you would enjoy seeing. :Devilish:

That insurance company is probably even paying Yahoo for this 'service'. I would let the insurance company know that there is such a thing as "user-friendliness" and doing things this way is not helpful. I suspect they will say this is a "security" solution. :wallbash: You might also be ready to be scolded for using a non-Windows app. :laughhard:

Not to mention that Yahoo is trying to steer users to the $5 per month Yahoo+ email service. Nope.
