What are the names of the partitions?
Can you upload an screenshot of Disk Utility showing the three partitions in the left-hand column (sounds like they will be listed in the group labeled "Internal")?

Mine is very simple and does not have any partitions created my me (see below).

My mistake, I read too quickly and thought you were using macOS 11! I now see you are using OS 10+

I am confused about the formatting of those three different volumes and exactly what Mac they are on? Are they all drives/partitions on an iMac? Perhaps you could provide data on the three partitions as a text list of the data in the large box in the right-hand area of Disk Utility (see the purple box in the image below).

Easiest way to accomplish your download is to move something from the system partition to one of the other partitions to free up enough space. However, you really shouldn't have the system partition so full since it needs empty space to operate property and efficiently.

Stupid, useless reply!  :wallbash: :blush-anim-cl: :whistling:
I suspect it may have something to do with the "Owners" data. That's why I asked you to provide the settings for that and the other data in the box (the purple colored box in my previous post) for each of the partitions. You can simply make a text list for those 8 items.

This is the easiest and reversible.

I assume you are using Safari?

Go to Safari/Preferences/General and choose a new file download location. You can choose one of your partitions.

Man!! I completely miss-read your problem! :wallbash: :coolio: :whoosh:

I thought you were wanting to move a file from one partition to another!!

All you wanted to do was "download" a file from the web to some place/any place to any of your partitions.   :blush-anim-cl:

I'm using a later version of Safari, so your window may look different. Look in the "General" tab of Safari and see if you have a setting for "File download location". If you do, see if there is a choice similar to "Ask for each download". See first image below. By selecting that setting, you should get a Save dialog that shows all your partitions and any connected drives. See second image below.

Hope that helps. :notworthy:

HA! Your English is fine! My French is completely imaginary! :blush-anim-cl:

Or as Google would say:HA! Votre anglais est très bien! Mon français est complètement imaginaire !

Firefox is famous for making updates and your version may be older than mine. However, in version 116.0.2, the images below show where to find the settings for making the app "ask" (allow) you to save a download. Firefox, at least in this version uses a regular tab to link to the actual settings for the app. What it calls "settings" is what we Mac users call "preferences".

The settings shown in the last image will/should cause a standard "Save" dialog to appear whenever you download something. You can then rename the download or change the download location.
