<< Sorry to bother you again, but what do you think of this Samsung display? >>
Spartacus,
I am typing this on a Samsung Synchmaster 957MB. It sits next to the Samsung Synchmaster 700IFT.
Or lies. Or stands. On one leg. Depending onyour point of view.
Hmm . . .
Both bought after much research and after returning a very good 17" Viewsonic.
But the Viewsonic was not quite good enough - brand spanking new it had a mild convex black curve at both the top and bottom of the screen which could not be adjusted out - measured at 1-2 mm. Viewsonic tech support said that they all have it to some degree, some better, some worse - they would send me another if I was feeling lucky. They were very nice about it. No thank you.
I returned the Viewsonic to the dealer and went Samsung and was pleased enough with the Samsung 17" ($200 US) that I bought a 19" ($300 US), as well.
These Samsungs are both shadow mask tubes. Samsung makes pretty much the sharpest shadow mask CRTs in existence. Great for reading print all day - sharp as hell - highly recommended.
But shadow mask tubes are not as good for graphics/games - for that you want the richer colour saturation of an aperture grille CRT.
It just depends on what you want to do with your CRT.
If you primarily want print, do seriously consider the shadow mask Samsung Synchmaster 957MB.

Epaminondas
