In the Washington DC metropolitan area, the storm has now passed. But problems continue. Mainly, they are of the inconvenience variety, e.g. no loss of life or major injury. There are however, more than 700,000 “customers” who do not have electricity; and it may be several days before power is restored. And after a day or two without power, that is a bit more than inconvenient-especially for the elderly, hospitals, etc.
As for me, my home suffered little damage - a Bradford pear tree is now in a neighbor’s yard and it may have wiped out a fence and the neighbor’s satellite dish. More will be known when the debris is removed. But I am content knowing that there is nothing that can’t be fixed by spending my grandchildren’s inheritance.
Many, even though they have power, are upset because they are still without cable TV. As for me, my angst is that I must use a dial-up until cable is restored.
