mail app question

The good: a previously typed address is re-typed when a few letters are placed into the address box.

The bad: how do you get rid of the address when it becomes obsolete?

Thanks/æ

Go into your address book, click on the person you want to get rid of and go to Edit>Delete this person.

AmicusE,

I have wondered about that myself. So far, I haven't figured out any way to get rid of the unwanted addresses. I've gotten used to the way the menu opens so I can choose to arrow key up or down the list, or I just keep typing until the address I want is at the top. Either way, it doesn't bother me much any more.

Gary,

The "auto-fill" in the Mail address line works, even if you don't have the address in your Address Book. It works very much like the URL line in Safari where if you start typing a URL that is still in the history, it will attempt to complete the line for you.

A thought: can it be tricked?

Say you were going to delete an address you've used before. Edit the entry first, and change the spelling of the name. Now go to a new message window and type in the name, spelling it correctly. See if it finds the address anyway or not. If not, delete the address, and you've got what you want... maybe. After deleting it, type in the name spelled incorrectly as before.
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

Thanks kelly!

I knew I'd just overlooked the obvious!

The history list is really cool! I shows whether the address is stored in the Address Book or not. thumbup.gif
