iPod Question. . .
« on: November 03, 2003, 12:29:23 PM »
and I really can't afford it!  I made the mistake of "isyncing" the calendar on my iPod, and now the damn thing has double entries for every appointment.  I went into the Calendar and deleted the .ics (?) file, and emptied the trash; the iPod shows no appointments.  Great!  I exported the file from iCal to the desktop, and then quit iCal.  Hooked up the iPod, and dragged the new .ics file into the iPod's calendar folder, and then dragged the iPod to the trash, unplugged it from the computer, and. . .Damn!!  Double entries!!  I played around with various things for over 2 hours last night, and just couldn't get around this.  I really do not want to reset the iPod to it's original settings, because of all the music that's on it, and I'm not sure that would do anything anyway.  Any ideas?  thanx.gif in advance.

iPod Question. . .

Assuming you have all of the music on iTunes, it isn't a big deal to wipe the ipod.  I have about 10GB of Music on my 20GB iPod and I have wiped it several times.  I have Occasionally needed to use the ipod to store large video files which required me to wipe the music off to free up space.  When I am done I just plug it in and let itunes restore all the music.  It only takes a few minutes.

Now, with that being said,  When you use iSync, how many devices are you syncing?  Do you have a .mac account that you are syncing as well?  Have you tried  deleting the entire calendar folder from the ipod first and then just synching again?  Have you checked to make certain that you don't now have double entries in iCal?
