I found this website which sells very cool skins for Apple portables (and iPods, too).

What's more, you can even design your own personal iBook/PB skin.

Since I am considering buying an iBook G4, I think I am going to get a skin for it, too. smile.gif
Power Macintosh G5 (Late 2004), 1.8 GHz, 1GB RAM, DVD/CD-RW combo, ATI Radeon 9600XT
w. Lacie electron blue IV 19-inch CRT display
iPod mini, 4 GB
AirPort Express
HP LaserJet 4200N
HP DeskJet 6940

They are WAY over priced. A year ago they were $20 for G3s and G4.. now there up around $60. It's just a thin piece of plastic that's airbrushed. You can make your own. smile.gif

Thanks for your interest in our product Lukas.

TS Addict, I'm not sure you've been to our site lately.. The price for our G3/G4 MacSkinz is $50 and has always been that price. The iBook and PowerBook MacSkinz are priced at $30. They are not flimsy plastic but a reverse screened  thermoformed product that is about as thick as a credit card.

Each MacSkinz design is manufactured in limited quantites and our process produces a superior product compared to painting yourself. Unless, of course, you are a professional artist. Even then, it would take time and effort in a world where time is money. $30 is a good deal for a product that also protects your computer without voiding your warranty.

Thanks,
Doug

Oh, we also have clear MacSkinz for G3/G4s and portables priced at $30 and $20 respectively.

I belive I paid $25 for an "AppleSkin" at that time about a year ago. And due to customer demand waited approximately 5 months to get my order filled. (I don't recall the exact time frame but it was absolutely longer than 3 months. 5 is my best approximation)

Honestly $30 is probably worth it.. but $50 is too high and I suspect the market has increased the price. Which is what the American way of business is all about. I don't begrudge any business that.

Hello Scott,
You must have paid $50 for G3/G4 MacSkinz because that is what they have always been. As far as waiting a long period of time before receiving them, that problem left when we quit outsourcing the forming and brought it all in-house. There is a story on our home page explaining the difficulties we've had. Every MacSkinz ordered is now shipped within 3 days taking weekends into account.

If someone out there knows of a way that we can produce our product for less with the same quality in the same limited numbers, please let us know.

thanks and sorry it took so long,
Doug
