Am using OS 10.2.8 and have recently installed Toast 6 and want to use Deja Vu to backup daily to an external Lacie hard drive. There are about 5000 files to be backed up (including photos). Occasionally the process grinds to a halt and a message appears telling me I don't have authority to move a particular file. (Which is rubbish, since I am the one who has originated the file) I have no option but to skip the offending file and continue with the backup.
That works fine until the same message comes up again about 2/300 files further along. The only way I can get the backup completed is to sit by the screen and bash the "Skip" button every time the message appears. This is a bind I could do without.
So I had the bright idea of opening "My Account" in System Prefs and changing my password to a blank, but get a message saying password must be at least 4 letters and I can't find a way to get the System to let me operate sans password
Any ideas anyone
Even if you've no ideas, have a good Christmas
