This is a fantastic shot of precision flying.

A never before performed formation...spelling  USA.  Taken over the control tower at Randolph Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Maybe I am being a tad skeptical here, but I would like some assurance that this isn't a digitally-enhanced photo.  The airplanes and the spacing between them just seem toooo perfect.

Mind you, this is just a gut-response on my part...

IAWT:  Where did the photo originate and how about a photo credit? I haven't seen this photo reproduced in any major paper (and I read three-four every day...) and one would think that it would receive wider coverage considering all the "patriotism" being thrown around these days...

Digitally inhanced, yes, but still a really great picture.

The fact that the image was created digitally and is apparently being misrepresented as an actual event pretty much negates any emotional or creative impact on this viewer/photographer...

Mayo, et al , I too thought the spacing of the aircraft was just too perfect. So I played with the photo...zoomed in to see if I could detect anything that would support my suspicion. I found nothing...however: this untrained eye...was wrong.  My apologies!

I enjoyed going to aerobatics shows while in the Air Force...and loved watching the USAF Thunderbirds perform. I almost signed up to be a member of the ground crew. Should have. Thanks!

They should have added two more more flight groups to spell out letters " M-A" and they should have been flying  over - - - -dad, you fill in the blanks.

Guess my sceptic meter was on high also.

Aside from the very perfect spacing, the angle of the planes didn't look quite right for that position in the flyover compared to the building. Seemed a bit too steep for back that far.

Nice thought though.

There was the dongle episode also.

They keep these things at Google.

Having seen the Thunderbirds, I have no doubt that the depicted formation is possible. Those guys do amazing things at such high speeds! The clever photo doctor obscures a plane or three just to make it look like this was the best shot anyone could get. Since it's fake, why not show it "perfectly" after all?
Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

it's fake.

There is no wash from any of the jet engines.

While a great sentiment, it's a totaly false photo.

There are sites like www.Fark.com, www.Somethingawful.com, www.PhotoshopContest.com, and www.Worth1000.com that specialize in this sort of thing.
