I have had my new 17" Imac (fromMicrocenter) for 3 days. Would not have gotten it if it wasn't Your post Kelly!! Thank-you, thank-you!!! Retired my 6500 (G3 400 Sonnet). This computer is sooooo cool!!! Added 512 mb ram and update to X10.2.8 (a 10 hr. and 40 min. download on my phone line) Only thing wrong is if I put it to sleep (apple/sleep) computer will not wakeup, but if it goes sleep via the energy saver if will wakeup just fine. I sure can live with that.  I have it on my desk rigth next to my frist Mac (Mac Classic) and the darn thing still works!! (the Classic) WOW this computer is sooooooo COOL!!! Why anyone would want a PC I have no idea.

You guys make me a little jealous.  I got mine right after the flat panels came out came out. So... only 800 mhz and a 15" screen.  AND I paid over $2100.00  with a 512MB ram chip installed.   I can still boot into OS 9, but I never do so... I am jealous

Have to add my graitude, kelly, it's thanks to you that I fell over the edge and not only went for the deal on the iMac but also installed Panther! Still sorting through the networking, but I now can 'see' all computers from all of them. Suspect I'll have to place both printers on the new iMac, but will first try just putting the USB hub on it.

It's one sweet 'puter! Even see envy in my wife's eyes! She has some fused vertebra in her upper neck and thinks the adjustable screen is super, even if it was up on her desk! Better keep an eye out for that thing moving! Maybe I should use the Kennsington lock thing!

Nah... You don't need the lock.  Just hook lots of cables into it (see my sig).

I just got my imac back together after having had to move it last night while troubleshooting poor DSL connection speeds. Nobody will want to move your iMac if you plug as many cables into it as I have in mine.
