Under $200 digital camera
« on: February 01, 2004, 10:30:28 PM »
I got my father a Kodak EasyShare camera for Christmas but i could not get it to work. Baiscally the charger base wouldnt act like it was alive at all ... so i returned it.
I need another suggestion in the same price range, under $200. Ease of use is by far the No. 1 concern. I noticed the Kodak was not as easy as it seemed because you had to copy the pix over to the card, they did not auto default there.
He got me a canon 4.0 elph that is just gorgeous except i feel guilty abandoning my film elph that had served me so well.
Thanks!
Oh he has a PC, with windows 98.

There are so many to chose from these days... this is the best place to go for very complete reviews on cameras.

One of the cameras in Kris's link to Steve's Digicams (Best of 2003) is the Canon Powershot A60. Bought one just after Christmas and have no complaints so far. For simplicity, I didn't even install the software that came with the camera. Just plugged in the USB cord and iPhoto does the rest. I believe I paid $199 at a local camera store. Looks like it can be had for $179 through some of the links on that site.
