With Safari, I get no favicon for TS. Hmmm.

I get the favicon, but I can't tell what it is. It looks like a minimized document on my Dock.

Here is a snipped screenshot.

I see the oak leaf quite clearly, but in the beginning it wasn't so good. It appeared to be corrupted..all dark and a single slash of silver.

I don't know if it was reloaded to the server or if closing and reopening my Mozilla was what fixed it.

It was reloaded.  The learning curve is/was evident for all to see.

Many thanks to Petra!

I give up - what is a "favicon". Where should I see it? Is it edible?

Hi MamaMoose,

A favicon is the little image that is displayed beside the web address in the location bar. I circled it in the image above. It is a special file that is placed on the server and a special line of code on a web page tells the browser to show that file instead of the default one that normally appears there. This little icon is supposed to be displayed in the favorites list also, once a page with one has been bookmarked. It's nice if well done because it makes a bookmark easier to see in the list.

see ya,
Diana

The favicons appear only after I visited the sites, and not in the bookmarks menu. They're not saved from session to session, either in Safari, or Camino (Chimera). Is this normal behavior?

If anyone is interested in making a favicon for their personal website, I found this page which shows how to do it.  (For those of you who do not already know)
