Kelly, your timing is impeccable!! I'd given our superintendent a stack of articles on the Macs vs. PC's debate and he has actually read some of them. He had continued reading more about OS X and in conversations with him, it seemed he was actually somewhat more open to the idea of reconsidering the all-PC route for our new high school, due to open in January or February next year. Then, last week, our Apple rep called - out of the blue - and spoke to our business manager and asked to do a presentation. (why did he wait so long?) Anyway, seems they were duly impressed and are now giving some serious thought to the issue. Our network manager and high school principal will be going to visit Shrewsbury next week, where they have a dual-platform environment and have made the move to OS X.
I am going to post another thread asking anyone with experience in a dual-platform large network environment to voice any thoughts/concerns/issues. Seems the biggest hurdle (besides the initial purchase price, which admittedly is higher) is the issue of networking & the challenge of achieving a trouble-free dual platform environment.
There is hope yet, for our new HS! Our elementary schools are all Mac, our Middle School is mostly Mac, with a couple of PC labs.
