Regarding the Regarding the War topic, I added my 2 comical (IMHO) cents, but then got to thinking... dangerous, yes, but sometimes I can't stop it...

Everyone on that string made sense.  Or, at least, I agreed with every comment, pro and con.  So I thought perhaps it is reasonable to start a string about OT's in general.

Petula made the point that one can join other message boards and talk about the war or anything else.  We know these can deteriorate into SHOUTING matches, and the moderators here, bless them, wisely wish to avoid that.

Even though we can turn to numerous other forums and discuss anything, even s-x, (don't wanna get cut here), but what about discussing these topics with our little growing family here?

I truly feel as though I know most of the administrators and other members on a personal level, with or without having exchanged private e-mail.  I would not mind learning what my friends here feel about the Persian Gulf, Jr., war.  It would mean more to me than just any old message board of folks with whom I have no connection.

I understand expunging/locking offensive strings -- like using foul language (baseball being the obvious exception) -- But why can't we, with appropriate notice, like PG (Political Guidance), discuss Off Topics which interest some?  Hmmmmm?  How about a poll?

Personally I come to TS to get away from the politics, vulgarities and arguments that abound on most of the other boards.  I would hate to see the standards of TS lowered. IMHO

Lorraine. I know you mean well.

But it's like being just a little bit pregnant.

All in all we feel it's best avoided.

Poll or no Poll.

There's a million and one places to discuss these topics.

This Computer Related Help Site is not one of them.

I'm locking this Thread.

We're not taking a vote.
