Epson 960 with CD printing attachment
« on: April 03, 2003, 10:00:00 AM »
Has anyone used or heard any feedback on the Epson 960 inkjet printer with the CD printer option. It looks like something I could use but I have not seen any reports of how it really works.

I would also like to hear about the CD printing.

I really need to upgrade from my present Epsons and would buy the 2200 right now, except that Epson makes the same printer for the UK, calling it the 2100, and that printer has CD printing.

Which has left me in a quandry: Should I get the UK version & deal with the voltage difference--and the fact that they are in short supply, or wait until Epson realizes that Americans also want that feature.

Or, buy the 960?

Anyway, I would love to hear from anybody using these printers with the CD printing. I deliver an increasing number of my photo shoots to the client on CDs. I make nice jewel case covers, but the CD itself still looks amatuer with my pathetic scrawl on it.

I resist any stick-on label for fear that it will unstick someday in the client's computer.

Well. FWIW. It seems it was a Macworld SF 2003 Editor's Pick.

There's a link to some Amazon Reviews.

Thanks for the link Kelly, but they just said they saw a demo of the CD printing in action. I know the quality of the printer will be excellent but would like real world info on how the CD printing add on works before I go out and buy one. I also called Epson and the add on is not included with the printer. You have to mail in a form to receive it.

Yes Thomas I burn anywhere from 10 to 50 CD's a day for publishing client's and it would be nice to get rid of my crappy writing on the CD's

Randy. If someone here has this great.

But. Just as an aside.

There's probably a couple hundred people that visit this Forum regularly..

Sometimes it seems to me that people assume thousands.

The chances on people using any particular item aren't large.

I found one recent comment at the dealmac Forum.

There may be others.
