I find 99¢ too expensive.

If you consider that 99¢ is about 1 Euro and a CD costs (here in Germany) 17 Euros and has about 17 tracks, I don't think it's an attractive offer (because if the price is the same I'd rather buy the CD in a store).

I know, you'll get better quality, CD covers, etc., but considering that the alternative is free (though illegal) I don't think a lot of people will use this service.

I think 50¢ is appropriate. The main reason for stealing music is in my eyes the price for a CD which is way too high.
The price might not be Apple's fault but of the music industry, but I believe that the illegal music downloading is mainly caused by the high price of music.

I disagree.

First of all, I will admit to having downloaded a few songs off of the net.  If this service works as advertised I will pay the .99 without hesitation. The conveniance of being able to get this music without going to a store is probably the biggest plus.  Also, I usually don't want all of the songs on a CD.  This way I can buy the ones I want without feeling guilty

I downloaded iTunes 4 and has a look at the Music Store. I like the idea of downloading just one song and not having to buy the whole album.

But for some reason I'm sitting on the fence with regards to the price. On one hand I agree with Spartacus and on the other I think that paying a 'buck' <$1.50 Canadian ;-)> for a song "ain't' so bad...once Apple sets it up for us foreigners that is.

I find the price just right. CD's cost over $12 here so I'm saving money plus I can get what I want instead of buying a cd with only 2-3 good songs.

I use to download songs off of file-sharing apps, but with this, I'm going to replace them all. Better sound and fast downloads! I have already purchased $26 worth!
