What's the best deal for buying fonts online ...
« on: May 28, 2006, 12:16:46 PM »
Frankly, I can't be bothered to trawl through the 31,200 options that Google has presented me with.

I need "Algerian" urgently.

Any suggestions?

Regards to all

Speaking of fonts.

Is it legal to use fonts on our computer for video productions for TV?

Our church has asked me to be the video producer and I was told that certain music themes were copyrighted & therefore are not to be used for the video production.

What is the deal with fonts though? Are they copyrighten as well? dntknw.gif

Just my 7.01 cents.

The general answer is that... the fonts you bought can be used for your production without royalties, unless specified in the license agreement.
The fonts that comes with Mac OS X or software are licensed to you for your usage. You can use them for your production.

However, say you have a production software in Windows, but you want to use a font that comes with your Mac, legally speaking, you can't copy a font from Mac to a Windows machine.

Aside from all the choices in type houses, there's also likely more than one manufacturer of the font you want. Make sure you get the one you want, and be sure to check the samples they provide.

I've had good luck with fonthaus (Google them), and I see they've got a couple versions of the typeface you want.
