What I did there was upload the picture (I tried to resize it properly first) and then I looked at the page it was on in Flickr and clicked on that particular picture and when it opened on it's own page I clicked on the button above that said "All Sizes" and then I used a "right-button" click (I'm using a PC laptop right now and I can't get to my G4 because my kids busy in there) and got a menu that included "Copy Link Location" which put the "static link location" into my cut and paste.  This is what I pasted into my reply.  I then highlighted the url and clicked on the icon above with the tree and that puts the words "/img" around the url and then I saved the response page.

One that works from Flickr has "static" in the url name!

SB  Not really.  I have uploaded 3 or 4 hummingbird pics to both "Tripod" and to "flicker"  what you posted is just the logo for Tripod. the hummers dont show up.  I have not figured out how to.  I get a URL that takes me to the page that has the photos on it but cant seem to figure out how to just get the photo without the hosting parties whole page.

Probably another whole issue is file size.  What is the max size I can post on TS if I ever get it figured out????

GN: I dont seem to be getting that "copy link location"    I am looking at the site with FF and a G4 laptop.  Can you take a look at both the "flicker" location posted at the beginning  and the  Tripod location posted rite before that one and tell me where I am going astray???

daryl66, you do know you have to add the image tag, right? That is done by clicking on the little tree icon right above the reply box (not the Quick Reply box, the standard reply box).

As for the Flickr images, right-click (or control + click) on the image you want to insert in your post and choose Open Image in New Window, you should get the image URL that ends with either .jpg, .gif or .png, depending on the image file format you have on that Flickr page of yours. That is the URL you have to put in the image tags. It can't end by any other letters than .jpg, .gif or .png if you want it to show up in a post or a webpage.

Tripod doesn't allow for "hotlinking" of images -- takes up too much bandwidth. So img tags will get you that nice logo. wink.gif

At your flicker site, I opened this pic in a separate window and got this for a url:
http://static.flickr.com/71/180986474_040f5c23f4.jpg?v=0

I then removed everything AFTER .jpg, added image tags and it worked. Here's the code:

CODE
[img]http://static.flickr.com/71/180986474_040f5c23f4.jpg[/img]

Your pics are grand. smile.gif

I'm sorry, MacHeadCase is undoubtedly correct, Control+Click sounds exactly right.  I don't commonly use anything that doesn't have at least two mouse buttons and the trackball I use on the G4 has 4.

I don't have a tripod account and I think the step of clicking on the "All Sizes" button at "FLICKR" puts you into a place where it gets stored as a static url and I don't know how to do that at Tripod.

 oops.gif I think it's working now!
