Earlier this week I got an email from Ebay asking me to click and respond to my Ebay account needing updating. I had been told that they have noticed unusual activities on my Ebay account and they needed to investigate, and make sure that I was the one making the transactions (purchases).
I contacted Ebay at their ebay "spoof" address and they confirmed that it was a "SPOOF/PHISHING" email that hd been sent to me.
However, I learned that when people shop on Ebay and other sites, make certain that they offer the paypal option and use it as a security backup so you don't get ripped off.
I had a guy on Ebay that I purchased a laptop from. He didn't respond to my emails, and then when I was contacted by another ebay shopper that bought the same item and didn't get his laptop either, then Paypal came through and got us our money back.
It was an interesting story; A man was advertising a laptop for 750, and sold one laptop (actually had none) to many Ebay people that responded to has post, but Paypal got me my money back in about 3 weeks.
Shop carefully, and cautiously...
