Canon SD 450 and OS 10.4.7

Hi,

I have a G4 Dual 500 running OS 10.4.7, and I tried to download pictures taken on my friend's Canon SD 450 digital camera.  She was able to do so simply connecting her camera through USB on her iMac400 running os 10.3.x

Well My computer wont recognize the camera when plugged in directly to the USB port.  Reading on Canon's site, they do not support OS 10.4 and suggest a card reader (which I do not have and cannot get to right now).

Anyone has a clue as to alternatives I may have here ?

I have the SD 500 and have no problems with the USB connection.  I am using OS 10.4.7 as well.  These cameras are very similar so......??

I do however use a card reader most of the time... it's simply easier because I just always leave the reader plugged into the Express/34 slot on my Macbook Pro.  The reader fits flush with the side of the computer awaiting my SD card.

I don't know why your mac is not recognizing the camera, but I think the easiest solution is to just get a multi card reader.

As it turns out, I had no access to a card reader.

However I had 2 IDE drives plugged in, I unplugged my slave and Voila, I was able to see my camera....

Weird but it worked.
