Hi TS people
For a while now, i have been thinking that it would be easier for me to get a laptop of some sort, and trade it in against this Quicksilver.
The reason is simple, it has to do with my move to the UK.
When i will move over to the UK, in the beginning it will be a period of 3 months, with the possibility of another period of 3 months after that, this is cause i need to find work first.
That's why i have the following to think about:
- During those first 3 months i will rent a small place, cause off course i don't want to spend all my money available on paying rent there. This means however that i have to go as light packed as possible (only clothes and...)
- Moving over wil also means that, at least in the beginning i won't have internet connection, and knowing i need this to search for work (would be easier to have it anyway) i was thinking that it might be easier having a laptop and search for (free?) wireless places in London.
- After let's say 6 months, Smiley would be coming over, and if not in the beginning than at least after a while she can have her computer send over. When that happens we have an (upgraded) 1,4 Ghz Digital Audio Desktop again.
I DO know that this
iBook will not run as fast as my Quicksilver now.
Although the iBook has a 933 Mhz processor, that's about the only thing it has an advantage over this desktop, and the board is 133 Mhz also (so equal to this desktop).
About the only thing, cause the second thing is that the iBook runs PC2100 Ram modules wich runs on 266 Mhz, while the desktop now runs PC133 Ram modules which runs on 133 Mhz.
So the Ram is faster but... not half of what i have installed on this desktop, it only comes with 640 Mb of ram... and that's the only thing i really regret having (not) on the iBook.
But in general... i can deal with it since it will give me lots of freedom travelling and also much easier to use to search for work.
Oh, also... this iBook comes with a 60Gb drive installed (the girl had that one installed upon purchase... another good thing i guess).
I think i typed all i needed to for the question.
One more thing, i have this iBook listed now, someone who wants to sell it for 600 Euro.
I hope i can make at least 700 Euro out of this desktop, with everything included (except the speaker set).
