New Cursors for Mac OSX 10.4

Been looking for instructions or tutorial on how to make (create) new cursors instead of using Mighty Mouse software.  Do you know where to find? Thanks!

Having trouble with MM? Or don't see ones you like? Have you tried the "Cursor Editor"?

Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system

Thanks for the info but I believe Cursor Editor software is for Windows, not Mac. What I am saying is that I wanted to create my own cursors without software.  What do you mean MM? What is it?

"MM" = Mighty Mouse.

I've never used the Cursor Editor. However, the Help page suggests tha some Windows XP cursors will need to be scaled down as far as the number of frames for use in OS X. I would therefore assume that the Editor will work in OS X, also. Whether it is easy to use, I have no idea. Yesterday, the "Get More Cursors" simply went to the old ResExcelence site which is transitioning to a paid site in conjunction with OS X Hints ( I think ). So it may be more difficult to import from those cursors right now. However, a Google might display several other places to import/download cursors. As for Cursor Editors, in general, I always go to VersionTracker, first. Recently, some one mentioned another site for finding apps.

Sigh, dissappointed that Apple doesn't have any helpful instructions or tutorials on making new cursors.  There are soooo many cursor softwares to make (create) new cursors for Windows, and none for Mac OSX.  I wonder why.

Just saw this from UnSanity and thought it might be of use.

fireprism, sorry we can't be more helpful. I'm wondering, does Windows ( any version ) use all the different types of cursors for all the various 'states' that can occur on a Mac? Like the Print Dialog windows, does Windows count on the app supplying its own stuff, like cursors? If so, that may explain why there is actually a need for cursor editors over there. dntknw.gif

BTW, you sound somewhat like me; I often get bogged down in the details and fail to appreciate the 'big picture'! blush-anim-cl.gif

At least we now know where the 'cursor archives' can be found. Thanks Bob!
