Upgraded Mac Mini's
« on: September 08, 2006, 11:06:46 AM »
Hi everyone,

It kinda surprises me that nobody has mentioned it yet (or i missed it maybe).
But Apple had also upgraded the Mac Mini a day after they upgraded the iMac.
Did nobody noticed it? wink.gif
Not much has been upgraded but they all come with Intel Core Duo now.
For the entree model that is a good boost i would say.
I also think they lowered price but not to sure about that.

bil207 started a topic with a <Apple updates the mini>link to the announcement. It's now on the second page with no replies. I think the starting price is still $599. I'd buy one for the church as an audio recorder, but I'd need to also buy a monitor. And probably more RAM. Thinking.gif

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

Oooh Airbusdriver, hadn't seen that one, sorry wink.gif
And sorry bill smile.gif

Gailwin, not a bad point you have actually, but i think it might be better they introduce a new low level single core Mini maybe, for about the money you say.
I was actually talking my mum into a low level Mini before, but since she bought my desktop (for my sister) that's not happening anymore.
That's why i also see the dual core entry as an improvement.

Apple should really, and I mean "REALLY" ad a video card to the Macmini, and make it easier for the consumer to pop it open and ad more ram to it or a larger hard-drive.

The Macmini looks cool, but I just don't think it's worth much without a video card build in, and having easy access to the guts of the Macmini.

I would say that's a yes and a no to that remark.

Yes, as it would be great to have a graphic card that you can replace after a while.
But No since alot of the entry models on PC also use onboard graphics... and since the Mini is an entry model.... wink.gif
