OT: HELP!
« on: October 24, 2006, 08:31:19 AM »
We have a 'lost' Manatee in the Mississippi, here at Memphis! Fishermen discovered the "pre-historic animal, Loch Ness monster, or somthin'" over the weekend. Zoo officials recognized the identity and called for help from our Southern neighbors who are hopefully better prepared to assist the vegetarian. We had a very heavy frost Sunday night and the water temps are probably in the low 60's if not already in the 50's. Nor are the swiftly moving ( and cold ) Mississippi waters anything like the normal habitat of this animal. Some suspect s/he is a survivor of Katrina and is still searching for its friends. sad.gif
THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF COUNTRIES
Those that use metric = #1 Measurement system
And the United States = The Banana system
CAUTION! Childhood vaccinations cause adults!

We actually had a Manatee here on Cape Cod this summer!  Thats further north than I have ever heard of one coming up the coast. It made all the newspapers.

He came in to the harbor about 5 miles south of our house.
there is a much better article in our little local paper,, but I cant find it at the moment.
Hope he got back south again, as the ocean is cold now, even tho the dog still goes in.
