Yahoo obit ..... One of my favorite cartoons...

Always had to 'listen closely' to catch ALL the humor....

I am old enough to remember Crusader Rabbit and Rocky and Bullwinkle is a True Classic, period. I haven't seen an episode in many years, but I believe that they would hold up quite well in 2006. R&B was so well written that even adults could appreciate the humor. Heck, the R&B humor was so subtle that only an adult would get some of the references.

For those poor souls who don't have the foggiest idea what we are talking about, this Web site will make it clearer...

On a related note, Yogi Bear creator Joe Barbera died Monday at the ripe old age of 95.

It's been a rough week for animators...

Such a great source of laughter and inspiration; I think a lot of the modern cartoons (saturday morning type) are flat and underdeveloped (pale) in comparison (even some done with computers).

I'm sure every generation feels its comic relief providers will never be matched, still, it is a sad day when R & B stands for something completely different and immeasurably less enlightening. Rocky and Bullwinkle was never intended for children. Only a few adults listen closely enough to others to ever hear their message. With humor being one of the best 'cure-alls' the world has ever known, it is sad when it is pushed aside as irrelevant because it might be irreverent.

Yeah! And I've got 'rhythm' just like Steve Martin in that movie where he grew up in a black family!

Actually, I have rather good 'ryhthm' but I can't dance unless someone is shooting at my feet ( the best one and/or the other one )!

I remember now the name of the movie was/is "The Jerk". That's related to the 'feet' part as in the feet usually move after a 'knee' jerk...fewer than six degrees...

And certainly related to Rocky & Bullwinkle in the details and interweaving of the plot and story lines that was well over the heads of casual viewers!
