Quite OT, music stuff

I stumbled upon Rhapsody yesterday, downloaded their player, and wow, you can search and come up with a lot of music which iTunes has not gotten yet.
Like some gospel and blues stuff which I like.
Listening to the Staple Singers at the moment.
And you can listen to the whole, yes the whole darn song, before you decide if you want to purchase it.
Great search, great amount of songs, give it a whirl.

Not really so OT.

It's not just Apple Computer anymore.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Cupertino can have better TV reception.

I think that iTunes store is adding songs as fast as they can, as each time I search, I find more.  But then sometimes, I search and find that something is missing, for example listening to an album on Pandora or Rhapsody, and not being able to find it in iTunes store.

But all in all, iTunes is just wonderful.
The only thing I have trouble with is moving my songs back and forth from Mac to Mac, but I do have most on the iPod now anyway.  Its just tricky moving them all around.

Story in our local paper this morning, most new cars will have hookups for music players, thus making tape decks and CD players obsolete, and the picture with the article showed an iPod.  Also in more and more news, finance, and science magazines, many of the illustrations picture someone using a Mac.  Free advertising for Apple, I love it.

Hey J.; isn't Rhapsody a subscription service?  Try Pandora.com, as it's free!  You create a "radio station" by typing in one of your favorite bands, and then the computer (there) will pick out stuff along the same lines.  Great way to find new music!

I LOVE Pandora, been using it for a long while now, one of my kids told me about it.
Ive created several 'stations', they certainly have a great idea.
Then when I find a song I like, I run over to iTunes and buy it.

Rhapsody is subscription, but usually I dont go over the 25 songs that you hear the whole of for free. Then when I log on from the other Mac, I can listen to 25 more.
It seems that they have a very very large collection, and Ive found some here that iTunes hadnt gotten so far, so I might sign up for it.
Then there are so many great 'streaming' stations that dont have commercials, or at least not many.
What fun, I can listen to my blues, gospel, jazz, and others without disturbing the rest of the house, right here in my Mac room with my big speakers.

And now Apple is coming out with this Television thing, which I am not interested in yet, as we dont watch enough TV to make it worthwhile.
But all this amazing new stuff, that we didnt even imagine 10 years ago is wonderful.
Even you-tube, thats neat, and some Boston area police depts have actually had results getting someone caught, and our tiny little town put one up that you could see the perp getting away in his car. They got him.
Technology, its amazing what is happening now.  I love it.
