Can you transfer Mozilla files from a PC to a Mac

and, if so, how does one do it?

I have a friend who uses 'Netscape' on her PC, is planning on buy not one Mac, but two; a laptop and an iMac.  She'd like to move over what she can--esp. the address book.

I tried looking on my PC laptop and couldn't find a 'Profile', per sé.  Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

Laurel, this article is a good place to start for moving all sort of files from PC to Mac:

Where Netscape hides its stuff in Windoze:

http://sillydog.org/netscape/kb/plocation.html (As noted, in Win2000 or XP those files may be hidden, which may be why you couldn't find them - so here's hoping that when you "un-hide" the hidden files, you'll be able to find them!)

Gregg--the interest/curiosity was there but I had some help, too!!!  We took a trip up to the Apple Store at Mayfair [maybe you were there at the time...  coolio.gif ??] and then she came over to check out my setup.   bump.gif    whistling.gif

Thanks a bunch, Paddy, for the links.  Am delighted to know that information is available 'out there'!  Haven't had a chance to investigate them yet but definitely will--they look very promising.

Yup... we're south of you, Gregg--Racine--northeast side by the big pond.  The lake helps me keep my bearings.  Our daughter was married outdoors on an embankment above the lake almost 5 years ago.  Beautiful wedding and gorgeous 'backdrop'.

Life is full of surprises...  cheer.gif

I always tell my wife to do that. The lake is to the east, whereas in Colorado (where we moved from) the mountains are to the west. Problem is, we live a good 10 miles from the lake. biggrin.gif

Thanks, again, Paddy for your advice and links.  Just got the info bookmarked and copied to TextEdit files to use for reference.  I'm sure the information will come in very handy when this gets off the ground.  She's dealing with some family health issues right now and will be for some time so this has all been put on the 'back burner' for the time being.

That said, I'm delighted to have that information to use myself.  Am hoping to replace my PC laptop with a MacBook and use Boot Camp for a PC program I need that's not available for Macs... =(  Just wish I didn't have to purchase ANOTHER copy of XP!!!  I have a retail Pro, SP1, version that was probably registered at one time but is no longer being used.  Two strikes against it right there--gr-r-r-r-r!

Question... do you know if one has to install Boot Camp at the same time the drive's being partitioned to use on the Mac side?  Can BC be 'installed' at a later date??
