Saw a video of these guys 'installing' the devices. All I can say, is they were 'stoopid'. But, if the 'authorities' think those things were 'suspicious', Heaven help us when the real bad guys visit! Couldn't be more than an inch thick and about a foot square. Had a crazy cartoon character outlined in LED's. It was made to be seen, for cryin' out loud! Later saw an interview that called this type thing 'Guerilla Marketing'. I think the police only heard the first word... wallbash.gif

That episode in Boston is quite telling. Those lighted boxes were placed in several cities across the country but only in Boston were they noticed and reported.

Now if I were a terrorist...  Thinking.gif

As with some people in any profession, sometimes the authorities just want to look busy and on the ball.

I thought it was a pretty funny that the presence of a "circuit board" was a clue that "jinkies" it might be a bomb according to a spokesman for the Boston PD or mayors office!  I wonder what kind of wrist watch this guy was wearing or whether he had a cell phone or pager on his belt!

I imagine the terrorists know the fable of the 'Boy who cried wolf'.  Sure would be easy to dull the senses of the public to this sort of thing til no one bothers to report them...
